ABOUT OUR MOSAICS

Our marble mosaics are handmade reproductions crafted using a blend of modern and ancient techniques. They are cherished in luxury homes for their uniqueness and beauty. Marble mosaics are the epitome of captivating décor.

The Ancient Home has contributed to creating stunning beauty worldwide. Architects have chosen our expertise to produce mosaics for the reconstruction of ancient sites and for private clients. We have also recreated famous contemporary artworks in mosaic form.

INSTALLATION

Installing mosaics is similar to installing ceramic tiles. Large mosaics usually consist of different fragments assembled and grouted on-site.

If you order any of our mosaics from our standard range, they come pre-grouted and equipped with hooks for hanging. They can also be installed on the floor, as they are backed with high-resistance material.

For specific installation needs, we can adjust the mosaic’s weight for wall mounting or enhance its grip for floor installation. Usual thickness for our mosaics is 0.8" to 1" (imperial system) or 2cm - 2.5cm (metric system). However, if a final thickness is required we must be informed by you, and we will adjust to make sure meet your requirement.

OUTDOORS & INDOORS

Marble mosaics can be installed both outdoors and indoors. Outdoors, they are commonly used near fountains, in public squares, resting areas, and on terraces. Indoors, you’ll often find them in swimming pools, spas, bathrooms, entrances, and living rooms.

CUSTOM MOSAICS

We create large custom mosaics for private and public projects such as floors, pools, and murals. Our extensive experience allows us to meet tight deadlines. Depending on availability, we can install the mosaics or assist with the installation.

From expansive floors to small murals, we can meet any design, material, and technical requirement for our mosaics. The only limits are your imagination and budget.

Material Options: Marble, ceramic, stained glass, gold, semiprecious stones, and precious stones.

Tile Cutting Options: Machine cut, combined machine and hand cut, or fully hand cut.

Extra Effects: Worn-out corners, polishing, reproduction of defects, patina, and breaks.

Tiling Methods: Regular and irregular.

Backing: Fiberglass mat, flexible resin, concrete, and aluminum honeycomb panel.

ABOUT THE TILES

- Usual tile size of 8-10mm, resembling classic mosaics.

- Tiles can be entirely hand cut or combine hand and machine cutting, depending on the desired effect.

- Mosaics can be tiled irregularly to imitate ancient mass-produced mosaics or tiled perfectly straight for a modern look.

- Tiles can be aged with rounded corners to achieve a worn effect.
